We wanted to take the time to look at the cast of the upcoming Food Network reality series Rachael Ray vs. Guy Fieri: Celebrity Cook-Off to figure out just which celebrity has the best shot of winning this competition.
To start off this show has two great hosts: Rachael Ray and Guy Fieri, as both are well-renown television hosts and chefs. They will make this show great, even if the celebrities have a hard time cooking.
Each host gets their own team of four celebrity contestants. The contestant that wins the competition receives a $50,000 grand prize for the charity they are playing for.
Even though the teams will not be revealed until the premiere episode, lets take a look at the competitors:
1. Summer Sanders
Why she is famous: She was a gold medal Olympic athlete.
Where you last saw her: She last competed on The Celebrity Apprentice, so she will have an edge when it comes to working with other celebrities and respecting her team captain (she did have to work for the Donald!).
The charity she is playing for: Right to Play (which she also played for on the Apprentice).
Our prediction: Summer will have the stamina and teamwork skills to really succeed in this competition. However, it will come down to how well she can cook, so we will see how she does in this dimension of the competition.
2. Alyssa Campanella
Why she is famous: She is the current Miss USA (which is owned by Trump, are we seeing a pattern here?)
Where you last saw her: At the Miss Universe 2011 pageant, where she was in the top 16.
The charity she is playing for: Susan G Komen For The Cure
Our prediction: Alyssa will definitely be able to stand out from her competition, as she is Miss USA after all, but she is one of the younger competitors on the show. We will see if this will hurt or help her as age could bring experience to this type of program.
3. Lou Diamond Phillips
Why he is famous: He received both a Tony and Golden Globe nomination and starred in La Bamba.
Where you last saw him: He won the second season of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, where he had to overcome several obstacles including the wrath of Heidi and Spencer Pratt.
The charity he is playing for: No Kid Hungry
Our prediction: Lou has a great chance of winning, as he will definitely be a fan favorite. He already overcame living in a jungle and having to participate in challenges such as eating bugs, so there is not much he won’t do to win for his charity.
4. Aaron Carter
Why he is famous: His successful singing career as a pre-teen.
Where you last saw him: He received fifth place on season nine of Dancing with the Stars.
The charity he is playing for: Kids Beating Cancer
Our prediction: Aaron is also a younger competitor in this competition, which may or may not be an advantage. He has overcome a lot of obstacles in the past years and we think he will be the “underdog” in this series.
5. Coolio
Why he is famous: He is a Grammy winning rap artist.
Where you last saw him: He was on the UK version of Big Brother.
The charity he is playing for: Music Saves Lives
Our prediction: Coolio is a performer, so this will be a strength when it comes to this competition, but based on his experience on Big Brother UK, were not sure if he has what it takes to win this competition.
6. Taylor Dayne
Why she is famous: She is a successful pop music artist and actress.
Where you last saw her: She appeared on the third season of the CMT show, Gone Country.
The charity she is playing for: Cambodian Children’s Fund
Our prediction: Taylor has had a strong career in the music field, so she definitely has the determination it takes to win, but we are hesitant on whether she will stand out amongst all the other celebrities on the show.
7. Joey Fatone
Why he is famous: He was a member of the boy band, N’Sync.
Where you last saw him: His most memorable appearance was on season four of Dancing with the Stars in which he was the runner-up. His career has skyrocketed since his appearance on the ABC program.
The charity he is playing for: Fatone Family Foundation
Our prediction: Joey has the charisma and drive to make it to the finals and his charity is a personal one, which is sure to motivate him to succeed. The question is whether or not he will have the cooking skills to do so.
8. Cheech Martin
Why he is famous: He is a well-known comedian and actor.
Where you last saw him: He has appeared in several movies and television programs including Cars 2, Machete, and The Simpsons.
The charity he is playing for: Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Our prediction: Cheech will be the class-clown on this series, but seems to have the least previous “reality television experience”. We will see if this serves as a disadvantage as to whether he can handle the stress and tension from working with other celebrities.
We will be tuning in January 1st at 9 pm for the show premiere to see whether or not our predictions hold up to what actually happens. For now, we predict that Summer Sanders, Joey Fatone, or Aaron Carter will take the win in this cooking extravaganza.
